Air New Zealand chief pilot Dave Morgan raced a Boeing 777 against New Zealand A1GP motor racing driver Jonny Reid along parallel runways at Auckland Airport this morning. Captain Morgan pipped Reid's "Black Beauty"in the first race, after light rain and new tyres gave Reid some traction problems. The 777 reached a take-off speed of 270km p/h with Reid reaching almost 300km p/h. Reid took out a second race.
